A grant program in honor of the outstanding accomplishments of
Jimmy Smith and Bill Paul in mathematics education.
Professional Development awards to enhance mathematics instruction are available from
the Smith/Paul Endowment. Grants are made to financially support North Carolina mathematics
teachers who are in their first five years of teaching. Grants may range to a maximum
of $1,000.
- Applicants must be currently employed as a teacher in North Carolina in their first
five years of teaching.
- Applicants will work in consultation with an Appalachian Mathematical Sciences faculty
member.
- Applications will be reviewed annually with a deadline of April 1.
